Addressing your emotional response to the pandemic.

My friends, I hope my message today inspires you to think deeper of pain and suffering around us.
Long, long time ago as I was working on young people with a lot of pain and suffering, I got a request to talk to the other youth workers who also worked with young people. So, I flew 2,000 miles across the country. At 30,000 feet clear sky looking down on the land. Seeing all these towns and all these cities. I had this reaction in my guts, “Oh, my God, the whole world is filled with pain and suffering. What am I going to tell these usual workers that the whole world is filled with pain and suffering? They probably already knew.” Then I realized at 30,000 feet, the beauty was there. Seeing how the earth was formed. Seeing how culture of people working together. Everything’s happening. Then I realized that the plane had to land to the reality of pain and suffering. But here is the 30,000 feet of beauty. The other observation is: Yes, the reality of pain and suffering is there, but I can’t live at 30,000 feet. The beauty I see here, I have to learn how to combine the two. It’s not either or. Stay at 30,000 feet forever, ignore the pain and suffering. Or just above the pain and suffering. Neither one by itself is valuable.
So, finding a way making a connection between 30,000 feet and the pain and suffering on the ground. How do you do that? Open your heart.
Open your heart to what’s going on. You see that beauty all of the places. Not so much from the altitude, but remember the perspective. The understanding is a healing tool. So, when I see things at that level, when I open my heart to that unconditional love, I can make that connection a lot easier to the pain and suffering going on.
Master Lin, the creator and founder of Spring Forest Qigong, has this vision statement, “A healer in every home and a world without pain and suffering.” He talks so much about the unconditional love, the power or vibration of the unconditional love. The vibration of love is so powerful that you become a healer working with pain and suffering, to relieving the pain and suffering in the world. Open your heart to love.
