There are many things you can do to calm your emotions and relieve anxiety and prevent it from becoming a problem. Simply taking long, slow, gentle, deep breaths is very helpful and you can do this anytime, anywhere, as often as you like. Practicing the active exercises of Spring Forest Qigong, especially, the Moving of Yin and Yang, help balance your emotions and leave you feeling calm and relaxed.

Here are some other very simply things that can be very beneficial in relieving anxiety and even anger and help you remain calm and balanced.

Key Energy Points to Stimulate

There is an energy point that is very helpful for so many things; including relieving pain anywhere in the body and relieving stress and anxiety. It is a point on the top of your hand in the “V” point between the thumb and index finger.

Start with your left hand. Starting with the left sends a message to your brain to start producing your body’s feel good hormones, which also helps strengthen your immune system.

Prepare Yourself:

  1. Put a S.M.I.L.E. on your face
  2. Focus on the unconditional love in your heart
  3. Visualize the healing energy from your heart flowing into your hands and into the point being massaged.

Doing these things will make your stimulation much, much more effective and beneficial. Press and stimulate in a circular way at least seven times on this point. You can do this longer if you wish. Start with the left hand and then do the right hand.

You can stimulate this point as often as you like. I would recommend doing it at least twice a day.

The Baihui energy point on the top of the head, right in the middle, is also a very powerful energy point. Cupping this point can also help to clear your mind and relieve anxiety. Simply form your hand into a cup and pat the top of your head with your cupped hand.

Stimulating the temples can also help to calm down anxiety–use your fingertips or thumbs and stimulate your temples in a circular way.

Another energy point that can help release anger and calm your emotions is located on the top of your feet. This point is between the bones of your big toe and your second toe. It is about 2 inches from the webbing that is between these two toes. You can stimulate this point in an up-and-down flow or in a circular way.

This point can help to balance the energy in your liver channel, which is key in releasing anger and anxiety and calming down emotions.
